State tourism policies — India

Common questions about hotel incentives under each state tourism policy we cover.

Each Indian state sets its own tourism policy with capital subsidy, stamp duty relief, SGST/GST reimbursement, and registration rules for hotels and resorts. We publish full guides for Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh — with fiscal tables, eligibility, and application steps for each state tourism policy.

Maharashtra Tourism Policy 2024 (MTP 2024) offers up to 20% capital subsidy (cap ₹20 Cr), 50–100% stamp duty exemption by zone, SGST reimbursement for 5–10 years, additional tourism FSI, and interest subvention. Hotels need Directorate of Tourism NOC, building sanction, and PRC after sanction. See our complete Maharashtra tourism policy guide.
